A White House official said the deal allows the US to impose a 55% tariff on Chinese goods, including a 10% base tariff, a 20% tariff on fentanyl trade and a 25% tariff reflecting existing tariffs.

Meanwhile, China will impose a 10% tax on goods imported from the US.

Earlier, on June 10, after two days of active negotiations in London (UK), US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick also informed that a framework had been reached to implement what was agreed upon in Geneva and in the phone call between the two leaders. "We will go back to the US and talk to President Donald Trump, make sure he agrees. They will also go back to China and inform President Xi Jinping. If both agree, we will implement the framework agreement," said Mr. Lutnick.

Lutnick told reporters that the framework complemented the agreement reached in Geneva last month, which was hampered by China’s restrictions on exports of critical minerals. The United States would also lift some of the recently imposed export restrictions, Lutnick said.

Meanwhile, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Li Chenggang said: "The two sides, in principle, have reached a framework agreement to implement what was agreed upon during the phone call between the two leaders on June 5 and at the meeting in Geneva," he told reporters.
